Frequently
Asked Questions

1. Which is the best season to visit the Pantanal?

There are advantages to come during both seasons, Flood (December to May) and Drought (June to November). During the rainy season, when the lowland forest and lower fields are flooded, many animals, as mammals and reptiles, move to forest islands and scrubland where they become easy to be seen. During  the dry season, wildlife wanders along the whole area and can be seen in big quantity, with many birds and other animals stay by the ponds where fish have accumulated during the flood.

2 – Is there need of vaccination before going to Pantanal?

There’s no malaria in the Pantanal. Yellow fever has been eradicated, but one can take the vaccine as prevention. The shot takes effect 10 days after inoculation and lasts for 10 years. Aedes Egypti  (dengue and zika vector) and other mosquitoes are present,  making necessary  the use of repellent.  Pants and shirts with long sleeves are appropriate at sunrise and sunset.

3 – Do I need to book in advance?

During the high season (June to October) the demand is greater than the number of apartments in most of the lodges, so the sooner is better. However, with adaptations in the programmed accomodations we are able to attend travelers with notice up to one week before. Call us!

4 - What is included?

The tour package includes lodging, meals, transfer (with AC) in/out, hikes, boat rides, night safaris, horseback rides (when present in the program) and bilingual guide (English/Portuguese). Drinks are not included.
